This year, the gallery space is being transformed into an open archive, diary or a background for activities that take place and will take place outside it. It becomes a space for encounters, sharing and intertwining. The opening evening will include a sound performance of the American musician based in Berlin, Max Eilbacher.
18:00 / Intermezzo – opening & feast
This year, the gallery space is being transformed into an open archive, diary or a background for activities that take place and will take place outside it. It becomes a space for encounters, sharing and intertwining. Meet the artists and curators who are involved in our long-term project. Sit with them at a shared table, enjoy our friendly community feast. Let be guided by Lucie Králíková – Efemér, the artist and garden architect, who is interested in a renewal of rituals and ceremonies.
21:00 / Max Eilbacher (USA): Rough Music Volume I – “Imitating a particular word”
Max Eilbacher is an American sound artist, currently based in Berlin. That work materializes in a variety of forms: compositions, musical performances, conceptual systems, perceptual choreography, installations, and theoretical sculpture. A frequent concern throughout the works is an inquiry into the inextricable and complex relationship between sound and experience. Interested in the role of acoustics in the sonic assemblage of the social, political and physical, he draws from a diverse tradition and practice of sound, musical composition, and artistic creation. Among other things, Max participated in the latest album Regards / Ukłony dla Bogusław Schaeffer of the legendary conceptualists Matmos. Through his performance in GAMPA, which benefited from the Tempo Reale residency program, he asks if sound outside of music becomes something else. A type of sculpture or a new type of architecture?
The performance is a part of the project Electroconnexion 2022.
