Exhibition opening of the Eye / Ear project curated by Iza Kaszyńska, Piotr Sikora. As a part of the vernissage evening, there will a sound performance of Alan Affichard, French sound artists based in Berlin.
The EAR, which allows us to simultaneously receive multi-impulses, is a symbol of the transformation of our perception of the world, allowing us to open up to inter-species communication and reflections on what influences and conditions our perception.
Alan Affichard: Elpmas Series #3 / performance
Alan Affichard's practice explores the limits and the possible extensions of manufactured and handcrafted objects. Elpmas Series is his ongoing research on sound and materiality which is unfolded in residencies contexts. From both raw materials and their environments, he extracts sound samples, leading to improvised scores and new instruments. The performances and installations generate an ensemble, which expresses implicit dialogue between different layers of sounds.
During his artistic residency organized by the Offcity collective in Pardubice in June 2021, he was developing a new range of sound experiments focused on thermo-acoustic phenomenas. For the exhibition Eye_Ear, Alan has prepared a temporal installation, which he will activate during a live performance on September 15, 2021. A series of sound workshops will be held on the September 16. Their participants wil be able to experiment with vibration, amplification, and materiality of objects.
