An original performative project by the international collective Ferst Dadler and British opera singer and sound artist Loré Lixenberg invites audiences to take part in a series of unique encounters exploring the republic through sound, movement, and dance.
The Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika is a rhizomatic, nomadic garden republic that moves across different locations: it was first established in the Franciscan Garden, later relocated to the Troja Gardens in Prague, and in June it will find its place in the gallery garden of the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA). The indoor part of the project ˈkonfɛrɛnt͡sɛ “conference” will then move to the space of Divadlo 29.
In a series of two consecutive live encounters, the artists invite the audience to actively participate in performative situations in which sound becomes a tool for sensing and understanding the relationships between space and its inhabitants.
Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika
21 June / 11 AM – 5 PM / GAMPA – Galerie města Pardubic / free admission
A performative gathering in a gallery garden exploring alternative forms of coexistence, in which listening and imagination become shared civic practices.
The gardeners of the Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika “Garden Republic” invite everyone to become citizens of this newly formed country.
Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika is a participatory, ongoing performance unfolding in the public garden behind the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA), situated within the Automatic Mills complex. Visitors are invited to co-create the Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika together with the artists and be part of a living environment shaped by dialogue and shared attention. Instead of a fixed script, the republic emerges through encounters and attentive listening—to one another, to the garden space, and to its inhabitants.
Do not expect to be entertained. Ask not what the republika can do for you, ask what you can do for the Republic.
Everyone is welcome to join for as long as it suits them.
konfɛrɛnt͡sɛ
25 June / 7:00 PM / Divadlo 29 / pay what you can admission
A unique, unrepeatable performance, ˈkonfɛrɛnt͡sɛ, on the values of the newly formed Zahradníiíiíiíiíi republika “Garden Republic” founded on the equality of humans, plants, and other more-than-human forms of existence.
ˈkonfɛrɛnt͡sɛ is a participatory performance about the founding of a new republic in the public garden behind the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA), within the Automatic Mills complex. It is a conference as you know it—or imagine it to be—while also being unlike any you have experienced before. The aim of this performative piece is to share the core values of the new republic with the audience through music, dance, and deep, attentive listening.
Come if you are interested in music, dance, or experimental theatre. Come if you want to be stimulated, inspired, or left in boredom… come if you feel constrained or disoriented by current neoliberal trends and wondering how you will pay your rent this month. Come especially if you want to become part of an original, unrepeatable work of art. As in any conference, the audience is free to choose their own level of participation.
The artistic collective Ferst Dadler and Loré Lixenberg embrace freedom, openness, and diversity. In their collaborative practice, they explore ways of rethinking relationships to place, community, and the surrounding world through attentive listening to the social and sonic ecology of a specific site. Performance, experimental work, and participatory forms of contemporary practice become a space for deep reflection through action—one that moves beyond the boundaries of language and conventional definitions.
