We cordially invite you to the Pardubice segment of the opening of the fourth edition of the Matter of Art Biennale 2026.
The fourth edition of the international contemporary art exhibition Biennale Matter of Art, subtitled Necessary Desires, brings together a wide range of cultural and artistic practices that emerge out of necessity.
A guided tour with the curators will introduce the exhibition, where a multitude of artistic visions, speculations, and imaginations come together in an intergenerational dialogue. The evening will conclude with a performance by DJ Seba Kayan, whose sonic experiments transcend the framework of Western musical tradition and challenge the boundaries of memory, power, and cultural hierarchies.

The exhibition and accompanying programme will take place across three main venues: the National Gallery Prague – Trade Fair Palace (Veletržní palác) in the Great Hall, the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA), and Tusculum Prague.
The opening programme is part of the broader launch of the fourth edition of the Biennale Matter of Art, which will take place from 11 to 14 June 2026 in Prague and Pardubice. More information about the full programme can be found at matterof.art.
Admission and the accompanying programme are free of charge.
The Biennale is organized by the non-profit initiative tranzit.cz in collaboration with the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA), National Gallery Prague and Petrohradská kolektiv. The main partner of tranzit.org is the ERSTE Foundation. Seba Kayan’s concert is presented in collaboration with the project Electroconnexion 2026.
