Dernissage of the exhibition III: Bodies of Dust

We cordially invite you to the dernissage of the exhibition III: Bodies of Dust.

The program will feature a creative-material workshop for the youngest visitors, the interactive installation by the No Fun Collective, and the last guided tour of the exhibition. With the closing of the exhibition, we will also open the Garden behind GAMPA, marking the start of a long-term project to transform a construction spoil heap behind the gallery into a space for relaxation and social gatherings.

The program of the dernissage is part of the broader program of Pardubice Museum Night, in which GAMPA, along with other institutions, traditionally participates.

We look forward to your visit.

17:00 Dernissage program & Opening of the garden / behind GAMPA

As a part of the dernissage program of the exhibition III: Bodies of Dust, we will also open the garden space behind the gallery building, which until recently was a construction waste site. For the project transforming this pleace into a space for relaxation and gathering, we invited artists and gardeners Kateřina Žák Konvalinová and Amálie Vystavělová, who in turn involved students from the Sculpture Studio at Prague’s  Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design to bringing this (non)place to life.

As part of the ceremonial opening of the newly accessible garden space, there will also be a follow-up program taking place directly in the garden. In addition to a presentation of student projects and a screening, you can also look forward to some homemade pizza from the gallery´s pizza oven!

17:00 – 23:00 No fun collective & interactive game installation

Lookout in the Cloudy Mountains from the world of 14 Days in May is an interactive installation based on the principles of the well-known game Twister. Individuals, pairs, and groups can move across the stone — the Lookout — by stepping on colored dots, according to the chosen version of the rules. The goal is to reach the point marked in magenta — the summit of the Lookout.

17:00 – 20:00 Open Material Workshop

Art and Materials Workshop for children and adults who aren't afraid to create and discover new things. Come dream with us and dive into the depths of the universe. Create your own planet – one where time flows differently and anything is possible. And who knows, it might even begin to shine.

19:00 Guided tour of the exhibition

Guided tour of the exhibition III: Bodies of Dust with curator Šárka Koudelová and the participating artists.

22:00 – 23:00 dj set Irako Sei /bcaa system/

Prague-based DJ and member of the multifunctional collective BCAA system, Irako Sei, will play a dreamy set in which dance and trap beats will gradually intertwine. Founded in 2017, the BCAA system collective explores the boundaries of contemporary alternative music, visual art, and theory.

By participating in the program, you agree to the capturing and publication of your photographs for documentation, promotional activities, and public presentation in print, on the website, and on GAMPY's social media for the entire duration of its existence.

As part of the opening of the exhibition III: Bodies of Dust at GAMPA, the project Oddenky will be presented—a unique porcelain sound system created by visual artist Manka Lustigová and musician sorbitol drops.

The Oddenky/Rrhizzzomess project explores the phenomenon of resonance in ceramic materials. It consists of 16 porcelain plates of various shapes and sizes, forming an instrument with a specific tuning where the plates function as speakers. The installation invites visitors to explore reality through hearing, reflecting on the fragility of social structures, the similarities and differences between individuals, and the boundaries of personal expression and collective coexistence. The performance moves between soothing ambient drones, shimmering percussive chimes, and high-frequency sounds that test the limits of resonance. The key elements are silence, pauses of varying lengths, and the dynamics of volume.

Manka Lustigová studied ceramic design at the University of West Bohemia. Her practice delves into acoustics, spatial installations, and material research. She enjoys building musical instruments and engaging in DIY projects.

sorbitol drops is an experimental music producer and visual artist based in Prague. In addition to music production, he creates multimedia installations that typically combine video and sound. His debut album Remízek Music was released in 2024 on the Gin&Platonic label.
