Eliška Bartošová: Smývání dne (Washing Away the Day)
Painting Exhibition at Klub 29
An exhibition by Academy of Fine Arts in Prague student Eliška Bartošová.
In her work, Eliška focuses on intimacy and the relationship between individuals and their own bodies within private spaces. Through painting, she captures seemingly ordinary moments of solitude, self-care, and quiet self-observation. Bartošová is interested in the home as a place of both safety and confrontation with oneself, where personal experience transforms into a universal reflection on vulnerability, identity, and female experience. The exhibition in Pardubice at Klub 29 is one of the artist’s first solo presentations.
Eliška Bartošová (*2003) studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She attended the Grafika 1 studio led by David Böhm and Slavomíra Ondrušová, completed a study residency in Taiwan, and is currently a member of the Malba 1 studio led by Robert Šalanda and Jan Kostohryz.

Homesharing: Ordinary Days with Extraordinary Children
Photo exhibition at Klub 29
A photographic exhibition capturing both the joyful and everyday moments of children with autism and their hosts. Through authentic photographs, visitors will gain an insight into the world of homesharing – a form of respite care in which people from the wider community open their homes and hearts to children with autism and intellectual disabilities.
The opening event will also include an afternoon clothing swap and a discussion with homesharing coordinators. The exhibition captures real moments from everyday life: cooking together, going on trips, or simply sharing quiet moments. It reveals relationships built on trust and shows that even seemingly small gestures can have a profound impact. For caregiving parents, homesharing offers an opportunity to take a break; for children, it brings new friendships; and for hosts, it provides an experience that changes the way they see the world.
Hosts are not professional caregivers, but companions and friends. This exhibition is therefore not only a visual experience, but also an invitation to reflect on how much sharing an “ordinary” life can mean to someone else.
Opening: 8 August 2026, 17:00
The exhibition runs until 28 August 2026.
Free entry.

Jindřich Hofman: Without Clear Instruction
Exhibition of paintings and drawings at Klub 29
Opening of an exhibition by young visual artist Jindřich Hofman, a student at FaVU VUT in Brno.
Hofman’s earlier work drew on the aesthetics of video games and focused on the edges of game maps – spaces beyond the main action, where the game world falls apart and loses its function. These dystopian landscapes operated as transitional zones of emptiness and disrupted orientation, revealing tensions between control and its failure. In his current work, this interest shifts from constructed environments toward situations of everyday experience. Jindřich Hofman creates images as open structures in which different possibilities of action unfold in parallel. Rather than following specific narratives, he explores relationships between figures, environment, and viewer. Fantastical figures do not appear here as identities, but as shifting positions within a situation. They make it possible to examine different ways of relating to the world – between participation, observation, and departure – without the need for a fixed interpretation. The image thus becomes a field in which meaning is formed through tension and relationships, without closing into a single answer.
The exhibition will present both older and current works by Jindřich Hofman.
Jindřich Hofman (2002) is in his third year at the FaVU VUT in Brno, studying in the Painting 3 studio led by Patricie Fexová and Veronika Vlková. He has completed internships at Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and in Gdańsk, Poland.

Pavel Matyska: Materiální hodnoty (Material Values)
Exhibition of paintings at Klub 29
An exhibition of paintings by Brno-based visual artist Pavel Matyska.
Pavel Matyska is among the distinctive representatives of the generation of painters shaped at the turn of the millennium at FaVU (Faculty of Fine Arts) of the Brno University of Technology. He studied in the painting studio led by the prominent figure of Czech figuration, Prof. Jiří Načeradský, whose pedagogical influence left a clear mark on an entire generation of artists – an emphasis on painterly sovereignty, work with the figure, corporeality and an existential undertone. Matyska, however, never adopted this experience literally; rather, he transformed it into a distinctive, ironically subversive and formally shifting painterly language.
In recent years he has been working with a strongly reduced palette, creating a sense of timelessness and opening space for returns to the past. Prehistoric motifs appear not as illustrations of history, but as metaphors for contemporary conflicts, aggression and patterns of power. He also works with pronounced textual elements, woven into the canvases sometimes subtly, sometimes in a dominant way.
Pavel Matyska (1977) graduated from FaVU in Brno in the studio of Jiří Načeradský. In his work he connects figuration with expressive shorthand, irony and the idea of the past as a mirror of the present. He works with a limited palette and archetypal motifs through which he reflects the social and cultural tensions of today. In addition to painting, he also works with comics and illustration.
Opening: 24 April 2026, 19:00
Due to organizational reasons, the exhibition will run only until June 17, rather than the originally planned June 19.

Petr Chodura: Redneck na cestách (Redneck on the Road)
Photography exhibition at Klub 29
A photography exhibition by Petr Chodura from his travels across the contemporary United States.
Last year, Petr Chodura set out on a journey across the USA together with Voxpot reporter Matěj Schneider. The result of their travels was not only a series of journalistic reports, but also a photographic cycle capturing various faces of American reality – from a military parade in Washington, D.C., through rodeos, civic protests, and the atmosphere of local bars, to Pentecostal church services and many other situations.
The exhibition offers at least a partial insight into present-day American society, full of contradictions, tension, and sharp contrasts. The opening night will also feature reporter Matěj Schneider, author of the podcast Redneck (Redneck – a podcast on U.S. politics).
Petr Chodura (*1991) focuses primarily on documentary photography, but also works extensively with sports photography. He is closely connected to the climbing scene and is the principal photographer of the most successful Czech climber Adam Ondra. He also has rich experience in theatre and concert photography.

Jitka Petrášová: Moshpit
Exhibition of Paintings at Klub 29
An exhibition of paintings by South Bohemian painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and fashion designer Jitka Petrášová.
Her clearly identifiable painterly style is spontaneous and intuitive, working with strong expression as well as a reduction of colour. In her canvases, she invites us into an introspective world of personal experiences and memories. Figurative painting is her most natural means of expression. Her work focuses primarily on her own formative experiences from childhood and adolescence.
Jitka Petrášová (*1981) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Alžběta Rajchlová: Pod kůrou (Beneath the Bark)
Painting exhibition at Klub 29
An exhibition of paintings by the Karlovy Vary–based artist.
Alžběta Rajchlová comes from Řevnice near Prague, and the forests surrounding the town where she grew up inspired her to create works rooted in natural forms, which she freely develops and lets grow into imaginative compositions. Her work with semi-abstract shapes, reminiscent of mysterious, yet-unknown organisms, was also influenced by a study stay in New Zealand. She focuses on painting on the border between abstraction and figuration and complements her canvases with story-evoking titles. Play is an important principle in her work. She seeks to invite viewers into this play, to enter into a dialogue with the paintings, to develop their own stories, and simply to play within the field of her images.
Alžběta Rajchlová (*1999) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she worked in the studios of Josef Bolf, Adéla Součková, and Milan Mikuláštík. She is also a student at the Department of Drama in Education at DAMU in Prague, a gallery educator, and a teacher of drama education.

Štěpán Adámek: Pąŕėîđöłīç Ļăpîđäŕįům Ôf Çhåøš
An exhibition of paintings and drawings at Klub 29
An exhibition by the Ostrava-based visual artist and musician.
Štěpán Adámek became more deeply engaged in visual art during his secondary school years, after visiting an exhibition by František Gross — an experience that changed his life. Adámek’s work unfolds somewhere between the conscious and the subconscious.
He patiently and meticulously constructs layers of thought – at times more figurative, at others abstract – yet the division between the abstract and the concrete is, in this case, merely a notion. These works contain countless polyversions and emerging ideas that invite us, whether through dialogue or in our own intimate space, to embark on a journey into the unique parallel worlds his paintings reveal.
Born in 1993, Štěpán Adámek is a self-taught artist. He studies biology education and works at a Waldorf primary school. Alongside his visual practice, he writes poetry and performs as a drummer in several bands.

Barbora Stránská: Mono No Aware
Photography exhibition at Klub 29
The exhibition by Pardubice-based artist Barbora Stránská uses photography as a visual language of introspection—a way of capturing the subtle layers of meaning hidden in everyday life.
The series Mono No Aware was created as an emotional diary of the past two years of motherhood—a period of intense searching for balance, calm, and reconnection with oneself. Motherhood is presented here as both challenge and inner conflict, but also as an impulse to retreat into a space where the artist can once again hear her own voice. Photography serves as a therapeutic tool and means of self-reflection through which thoughts and moods can be grasped and processed. Formally, the series draws on abstraction, shadows, textures, and blurring—dissolving the boundaries between reality and dream, and evoking a perception of ephemerality. Instead of a linear narrative, a mosaic of moments emerges: fragments of inner landscapes of feelings, anxieties, and small joys.
Barbora Stránská (*1987) studied social anthropology at the University of Pardubice and currently works as a freelance photographer. In October, she begins a year-long photographic mentorship program at Sputnik Photos in Warsaw.

David Těšínský: The Burning Lungs of the Planet
Photo Exhibition at Club 29
Every year, thousands of hectares of the Amazon rainforest are deliberately destroyed. Some areas are logged, while most are burned to allow farmers to illegally claim more land. This has a profound impact on local indigenous tribes. The images in this exhibition capture the devastation left behind by agricultural and mining companies in the Amazon, the lives of native inhabitants in this environment, and the consequences of climate change that are slowly transforming our planet. This series was created during the massive Amazon fires in 2020.
The photographer has gained recognition for numerous projects in the past. He has documented the grueling lives of Japanese businessmen, drug addicts in Prague, the war in Donbas, ghettos in Africa and Asia, the aftermath of gang wars in Central America, and much more.
David Těšínský (*1990) is an independent photographer, photojournalist, and traveler. His work has been published in many Czech and international media outlets. He is also a multiple-time recipient of the Czech Press Photo award.

Kochiba: Pure Form
