CecoslovacchiaLive ➛ Jakub Ružinský: Nad Tatrou sa blýska (Lightning over the Tatras)

Exhibition of Paintings at Klub 29

An exhibition of paintings by Slovak artist Jakub Ružinský. The exhibition is part of the summer event series CecoslovacchiaLive, focusing on contemporary Slovak artists at Divadlo 29 & GAMPA.

In his paintings, Jakub Ružinský draws inspiration from medieval art, Christian spirituality, mysticism, and hermeticism. He creates vividly colorful works often depicting mythological scenes, using symbolism that references both spiritual themes and critiques of contemporary society. The exhibition offers an opportunity to immerse oneself in a fascinating visual language that is poetic, provocative, and deeply symbolic.

Jakub Ružinský (*1996) is a painter and restorer from Košice. He studied restoration and conservation at the School of Applied Arts in Košice and later pursued painting at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava under the guidance of Prof. Daniel Balabán.

The exhibition will run until August 1, 2025. Admission is free.
