Alžběta Rajchlová: Pod kůrou (Beneath the Bark)

Painting exhibition at Klub 29

An exhibition of paintings by the Karlovy Vary–based artist.

Alžběta Rajchlová comes from Řevnice near Prague, and the forests surrounding the town where she grew up inspired her to create works rooted in natural forms, which she freely develops and lets grow into imaginative compositions. Her work with semi-abstract shapes, reminiscent of mysterious, yet-unknown organisms, was also influenced by a study stay in New Zealand. She focuses on painting on the border between abstraction and figuration and complements her canvases with story-evoking titles. Play is an important principle in her work. She seeks to invite viewers into this play, to enter into a dialogue with the paintings, to develop their own stories, and simply to play within the field of her images.

Alžběta Rajchlová (*1999) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she worked in the studios of Josef Bolf, Adéla Součková, and Milan Mikuláštík. She is also a student at the Department of Drama in Education at DAMU in Prague, a gallery educator, and a teacher of drama education.

Opening: 9 January 2026 at 18:30
Exhibition runs until 27 February 2026
