+ Program

Natálie Pleváková & mʊdʌki & William “Bilwa” Costa: Spectral

Audio performance of an international collective of sound artists, specifically performed in the site specific context of GAMPA in Automatic mills.

Natálie Pleváková is a Prague based composer and sound artist. In her work, she's searching for ways out of the temporal determination of music and fragmentary sonic perception. Balancing on the edge of seeming chaos and precise composition, she calls for the joint discovery of new aesthetic categories in music.

Polina Khatsenka aka mʊdʌki (BY/CZ) is a czech-based sound artist, dj, event organiser and music producer from Minsk, Belarus. She has devoted her work to sound exploration since 2015. Her music production is arising from subconsciousness with an accent to authentic sound sources, author‘s recordings with usage of basic/primitive hardware, including diy synths, all based on digital setup. Each type of performances of hers are amplified by improvisational methods with space for randomness left in order to make each show bear peculiar energy and provide the listener an intensive feeling of living the moment.

William „Bilwa“ Costa (DE) is an experimental / conceptual composer and artist based in Berlin. Incorporating elements of noise, drone, Musique concrète, sound and psychoacoustic research, Bilwa performs electro-acoustic listening sessions (or “sound saunas”) using sine-tones, un/natural field recordings, and feedback.

Entrance fee: 100 CZK

GAMPA | concert | performance | Electroconexion

In between exhibitions, GAMPA becomes, among other things, a refuge for short-term art projects and performances. The creative meeting of two improvisers with two very different approaches to live electronic music is one such temporary intervention. Petr Vrba is a tireless explorer of non-idiomatic improvisation using trumpets, clarinets, synthesizers, DIY electronics or vibrating speakers. Mathieu Chamagne develops interactive devices, explores and questions the meaning and role of the musical space in the interpretation of electronic music, blurring the boundaries between composition, interpretation and improvisation. His interactive installation Apertures, which he will bring with him to Pardubice, is both an object and a non-haptic sound instrument working with gestures. Their approaches, instruments and the gallery space meet in this unique performance.
