With the arrival of summer, we are once again opening our gallery summer cinema on the steps of the amphitheatre. The opening screening will present films by four artists featured in the Matter of Art 2026 biennale exhibition at GAMPA
During the evening, we will present video animations by Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (b. 1951), one of the pioneering figures of her generation. Her early works chart a territory where the erotic collides with machine-fetishism, shot through with a straightforward feminist tone that has pervaded her practice across decades.
The programme will also include an auteur video by multimedia artist Liliana Zeic (b. 1988), rooted in the principles of queer feminism and queer ecology, which challenge the separation of desire from the body and the surrounding environment.
The screening will also feature a selection of video performances by Cezary Bodzianowski (b. 1968), whose intimate and often absurd one-man shows take place in city streets and public spaces. Bodzianowski describes his work as a personal theatre of events. He approaches the city as a vast stage, where the audience is not merely a spectator but becomes part of the performance itself.
The screening will conclude with an early film by Nosrat Karimi, the pioneer of Iranian animation.
