Ústav úžasu: Stůl nad zlato (A Table Worth More Than Gold)
A fairy-tale classic set in the years between the world wars.
Stůl nad zlato (literally “Table Above Gold,” a wordplay on the Czech fairy tale title “Sůl nad zlato” – “Salt Above Gold”) is an adaptation of the story popularized by Božena Němcová, transposed into the framework of the interwar events of the 20th century. With distance and playful exaggeration, the performers give voice to the hardships of separation and loss—burdens the last century brought in greater measure than anyone could have imagined. And because of human nature, the theme remains strikingly relevant today.
