Tanzwerke Vanek Preuss: Polaris
The latest work by Tanzwerke Vanek Preuss explores the phenomenon of societal polarization — and its impact on all of us — through the body’s seismograph.
This dance performance examines the confused human being, black-and-white thinking, and our tendency to retreat into isolated communities of like-minded individuals. Polaris asks how this contemporary zeitgeist is reflected in the body. What does helpless rage mean in the context of the so-called “polycrisis”? How do exaggeration, hype, false imagery, and a tendency toward emotional extremes reshape our bodies and souls? What are the consequences of diminishing empathy and the growing collective vulnerability?
