SCS Super Trio (Štveráček / Charette / Šoltis) (CZ/US/SK)

Brian Charette, a world-class Hammond organ virtuoso, joins forces with one of the finest Czech tenor saxophonists, Ondřej Štveráček, and the outstanding rhythm of Dano Šoltis.

New York keyboard magician Brian Charette is among the absolute top-tier Hammond organ players worldwide. He is best known for his Sextette project and collaborations with global icons such as Joni Mitchell, Chaka Khan, Paul Simon, Cyndi Lauper, Oz Noy, Vinnie Colaiuta, and John Patitucci. A sought-after studio musician, Charette has contributed to numerous recordings by world-renowned artists and has received multiple prestigious awards, including the DownBeat Critics Poll in 2014.

In SCS Super Trio, Charette is joined by Ondřej Štveráček, one of the Czech Republic’s leading tenor saxophonists, and Dano Šoltis, an exceptional drummer also known from the band Vertigo. Since their formation in 2012, the trio has crafted a signature sound based on intricately developed grooves, blending elements of funk, jazz, and electronics.

Saxophonist Ondřej Štveráček builds upon John Coltrane’s Sheets of Sound concept, evident in his phrasing and tonal character. He shares with Coltrane not only an impeccable jazz technique but also an ability to navigate breakneck tempos, intricate harmonies, and complex meters with ease. In recent years, Štveráček’s own musical identity has come to the forefront, enriching both his performances and his audiences. With his own band, he has released five studio albums and regularly performs at key jazz destinations across Central Europe. His talent has been praised by jazz legends such as Jerry Bergonzi, Dave Liebman, and Czech-American bassist George Mraz.
