Ida The Young • rivermoans

A joint event by Hudební ceny Vinyla and Divadlo 29 presents the acclaimed indie band Ida The Young and rivermoans, the poetic music project of visual artist Marie Tučková.

Strange flowers, hungry seagulls, black lipstick, wrinkled hands in a bathtub, volcanoes, and murderous cowboys – all this forms the world ofIda The Young. This five-piece band stands out with the intimate, straightforward vocals of London-born Iris Hobson-Mazur, evocative lyrics, and colourful, genre-blending instrumentation. On their debut EP Strange Shaped Flowers (2023), Ida The Young uniquely combine elements of folk and Americana. Their next, more electronic EP Silver Thing marked the beginning of their collaboration with Korobushka Records.

Ida The Young were named Discovery of the Year at last year’s Vinyla Music Awards. Their debut albumTell Me When You Pass the Sun will be released in November 2025. The new record aims to connect the diverse directions explored on their previous releases while capturing the energy of the current line-up. In addition to their growing presence on Czech and Slovak club and festival stages, the band also performs regularly abroad.

rivermoans is an experimental alt-pop project by multimedia artist and musician Marie Tučková. Her debut album Wet Scores for Listening is a continuation of her visual art project of the same name, in which she translates musical compositions and scores into drawings and poetry. In her music, she layers ethereal vocals with hazy sonic landscapes. “rivermoans is a liquid body that melts and reshapes itself. I can’t define who it is more clearly, but if it moves, it probably moves through water,” says Marie Tučková.
