Dvojkřtiny / Double Book Launch (Eva Kašparová & Miloš Kašpar)

A special evening dedicated to the presentation and launch of two books by the Kašpar couple.

Ing. Eva Kašparová will present her book Jak na moderní batiku (How to Do Modern Batik), which offers instructions on how to dye textiles in an environmentally friendly way – using cold-dyeing with resting time and modern reactive dyes instead of the formerly common hot-dyeing methods. Ing. Kašparová continues to be actively involved in textile finishing and works as a batik instructor at the educational centre Sféra.

Ing. Miloš Kašpar, in his book Včely a jejich biochemická tajemství (Bees and Their Biochemical Secrets), presents a new perspective on the abilities of bees – for example, how they communicate through pheromones and produce enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants. He also assesses the healing properties of honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, wax, and bee venom from the viewpoint of current biochemical research and new analytical methods. Ing. Kašpar has been beekeeping since 1960, advocates limiting the excessive use of synthetic drugs in treating varroa mite infestations, and draws attention to the loss of biodiversity.
