CecoslovacchiaLive ➛ Jakub Ružinský: Nad Tatrou sa blýska (Lightning over the Tatras)
Opening of the exhibition of paintings by Slovak visual artist Jakub Ružinský. The exhibition is part of the summer event series CecoslovacchiaLive, which at Divadlo 29 & GAMPA focuses on contemporary Slovak artists.
In his work, Jakub Ružinský draws inspiration from medieval art, Christian spirituality, mysticism, and Hermeticism. His vividly colorful paintings often depict mythological scenes and use symbolism that references spiritual themes as well as critiques of contemporary society. The exhibition offers a chance to immerse oneself in a fascinating visual language that is poetic, provocative, and deeply symbolic.
Jakub Ružinský (*1996) is a painter and restorer originally from Košice. He studied restoration and conservation at the School of Applied Arts in Košice and went on to complete his painting studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Ostrava under the guidance of Professor Daniel Balabán.
The exhibition runs until August 1, 2025. Free admission.
