Young Slovak painterAlexandra Hrehová explores themes of female identity and personal experience in her work, connecting them with collective memory and folkloric motifs. A distinctive element in her paintings is the use of masks, symbolizing generational traumas of women, while also leaving space for the viewer’s introspection. Her figurative painting thus opens a sensitive dialogue on deeply rooted societal issues.

The exhibition is part of the summer CecoslovacchiaLive series, focusing on contemporary Slovak artists at Divadlo 29 & GAMPA.

The exhibition runs until October 10, 2025. Free admission.
