No Pie, No Work – An Introduction to Macroeconomics

We will explore the fundamentals of modern monetary theory and the current economic paradigm. You will learn what money is, how it is created and destroyed, and why we pay taxes. Concepts such as budget deficit, national debt, and inflation will be explained, along with ways to combat it. The lecture will also focus on the causes of unemployment and the possibilities for financing ambitious projects like the Green New Deal.

The lecture will be led by Dr. Jan Valendin, Assistant Professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The lecture will be held in Czech.
