Club 29 – Small Stage of Divadlo 29

About Club 29 / contact

Club 29 is an extension of Divadlo 29 that has existed since 2004. In September 2006, Club 29 relocated from a temporary room to larger premises on the ground floor of the house on Svaté Anežky České 29, where it has since functioned as a café, bar, and the small stage of Divadlo 29. Club 29 is a space for open debate and public discussion.

Club 29 presents exhibitions, chamber concerts and performances, film screenings, literary readings, lectures, debates, seminars, and events to accompany the programme of Divadlo 29.

The Club is also a place for meetings of groups of volunteers and individuals focused on various cultural and communal activities. The Club is non-smoking. There is free Wi-Fi.

Club 29 Projects

Exhibitions

The Club averages twelve exhibitions in a year. The exhibiting artists are usually at the beginning of their careers or still students. We emphasise artists with a link to the East Bohemian region. There are also exhibitions that accompany selected projects of Divadlo 29 (One World film festival, Week for Mental Health, etc.).

Universitas Café (Kavárna Universitas)

Universitas Café is a cycle of informal debate evenings for scientists, people with a connection to science, and members of the general public interested in science and knowledge. The evenings are devoted to a joint search for questions and answers on a theme agreed in advance, allowing attendees to raise questions in a casual environment.

Organised by students of Pardubice University within the Open Gate of Knowledge II, in collaboration with Divadlo 29.

Workshops

Artist workshops allow visitors to ‘look under the hood’ of their work. Participants have a unique opportunity to try out traditional, less traditional, or entirely original artistic techniques under the tutelage of an artist or art group.

The workshops are open to attendees of all ages. The participants are introduced to undemanding artistic and handicraft techniques. Anyone from the public can take part, and can become both a pupil and a teacher. The workshops offer Club visitors the chance to participate in the creation of its programme, thus supporting the Club’s community function.

Lectures

Thematic lectures on sociology, travel, and other topics.
