Stoned to Death Showcase: Never Sol • Here • Bunkerer

An evening curated by the Pardubice-based label Stoned to Death, active since 2012. At this concert, Never Sol will present her new album Rest Your Wound On Mine. Echoes of ’90s shoegaze will be brought by Here from Vyškov, and dense EBM vibrations will be delivered by Bunkerer.  

Rest Your Wound On Mine is the new album by Never Sol (released at the end of April). Years in the making, the record captures the artist’s journey toward leaving behind her characteristic song-based structures and dissolving them into more abstract forms. A key element for Never Sol was grounding herself in synthesizers and modular systems, where she found an ideal sonic language for self-expression. The result is seven atmospheric, intense, and deeply introspective tracks that evoke an almost otherworldly sense of detachment from the world and material reality. 



The band Here, who once described their style as “flower noise,” stood at the beginnings of the Czech independent wave inspired by overseas shoegaze. Their debut album Swirl (released in 1993) is considered one of the gems of the genre, and its newly remastered version was released this year on Stoned to Death. The reissue became an impulse for the band’s rare return to club stages. Even after more than thirty years, Here still manage to revive the atmosphere and essence of a style they helped shape in this region.



The evening will open with Bunkerer, a project from Kladno, presenting their new release Kontrolní orgán. It moves within a stripped-down EBM aesthetic, where a minimalist carpenter-style synth meets a rigid beat and the direct vocals of a psychedelic crossfit trainer from Planet Death.
