Lucie Tomsa: Lekce s Jane (Lesson with Jane)

A performative fitness session in which the audience actively exercises, relaxes, and reflects on the crises of today’s world and on strengthening the muscle of compassion.

How seriously should we take the opinions of the famous and powerful on what needs to be done to save the world? The starting point of the project is the life story of American actress, activist, and fitness instructor Jane Fonda. With the active involvement of the audience, the creators of the project build a space for reflecting on our own efforts toward positive change in the world, while taking into account our personal limits as well as external obstacles.

We kindly ask audience members to bring comfortable clothing for exercise and a drink. Those who wish may bring their own yoga mat; mats will be provided for everyone else. Duration of the performance: 85 minutes.

We also offer an accompanying programme in the form of Skupinové sdílení (Group Sharing) led by therapist Kristína Pelikánová, as the performance opens up pressing themes such as the crises of today’s world and one’s relationship to one’s own body, which may awaken or reopen sensitive questions for the audience. The sharing lasts approximately 45 minutes. Participation in Skupinové sdílení (Group Sharing) is included in the ticket price for Lekce s Jane (Lesson with Jane).
