Jak vyvažovat negativní vlivy umělé inteligence na životní prostředí (Balancing the Environmental Impact of Artificial Intelligence)

For some time now, there has been growing discussion about the environmental costs of using AI systems, especially in their generative form. We will look at how this debate has evolved over the past two years and assess the externalities that the use of AI and associated data centers brings in the areas of energy consumption, water management, and rare metals. We will also discuss how to use AI responsibly, which forms of use are harmful, and why.

The lecture will be given by Mgr. Juraj Hvorecký, Ph.D., who works at the Center for Environmental and Technology Ethics in Prague.

The lecture will be held in Czech.
