Jérôme Noetinger is a filmmaker, composer, and improviser who plays electroacoustic instruments, most notably reel-to-reel tape recorders (Revox), which he masterfully uses as a sound source. For many years, he led the non-profit organization Metamkine, dedicated to the distribution of improvised and electroacoustic music. In addition to his numerous short- and long-term projects around the world (collaborations with Lionel Marchetti, Anthony Pateras, Okkyung Lee, Lasse Marhaug, Kevin Drumm, among many others), Noetinger is especially respected as a member of the legendary audiovisual collective Cellule d’intervention Metamkine.
Petr Vrba plays trumpet, clarinet, synthesizers, and various electronic instruments. He collaborates with filmmakers, dancers, and visual artists, and regularly performs with leading figures of the European free improvisation scene (including Axel Dörner, Balázs Pándi, Thomas Lehn, Xavier Charles, Franz Hautzinger) as well as with experimental and sound artists such as Birgit Ulher, Yan Jun, eRikm, and others. “As a trumpeter, Vrba explores the integration of the trumpet in new contexts, creating fresh frameworks through both acoustic and electronic means. He demonstrates remarkable inventiveness, driven by a fascination with the acoustic experience.” (composer and educator Jaroslav Šťastný aka Peter Graham on PV)
The concert took place as part of the Electroconnexion 2022 project, with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Statutory City of Pardubice, and the Pardubice Region.
